Superintendent Thao came to United States as a young boy in 1978. In 1988, Thao graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout with a Bachelor of Science Degree. In 1993, he received a Master Degree in Management of Technology. Due to the need of Bilingual Teachers, he was recruited to teach in Minneapolis Public School while enrolled full time at Hamline University for an ESL teaching degree. In 2004, he then enrolled to the Ed. S. Degree Program at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. Thao received his K-12 Principal Certificate in 2006 and Superintendent Certificate in 2013.
In 2006, Thao founded and sanctioned Noble Academy as a K-8 charter school. He is currently the Superintendent of Noble Academy. Under his leadership, Noble is one of the top performing Hmong Charter Schools in the state of Minnesota. “I want to tell you that I am so pleased to meet you, the founder of Noble Academy. Thao is a talented educator and is dedicated to teaching and learning as his profession. He holds high standards for himself, his staff, and his students. He is truly centered on student learning. Thao is without a doubt, a remarkable educator, motivator, CEO, and gifted leader.
One of Superintendent Thao’s hobbies is spending quality time with his grandchildren. Superintendent also enjoys staying active and traveling.
