I graduated from Saint Catherine University with my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a Preprimary Specialty. I also minored in studio art and psychology.
I have been teaching for over 5 years now. I first started out working at a Montessori Preschool with toddlers and preschoolers right after I graduated from college and then I became a long-term sub for a short period of time--teaching 5th grade in Minneapolis. In the winter of 2013, I began teaching PreK at a charter school in Saint Paul, which I taught at for about 4 years and for the fall of 2017, I will be starting my journey teaching preschool at Noble Academy. This will be their first year starting up their PreK program so I am super excited to be a part of that experience.
Reason for becoming a Teacher:
I enjoy working with the little ones because I get to be a part of their first learning experience. Ever since I have been little, I have always been helping others whether it was a friend, my younger siblings, or a stranger. I wanted to make a positive difference in someone’s life and I was able to do that through teaching.
Interesting Facts and Hobbies:
I currently reside in Brooklyn Park with my husband and my two young boys (age 2 and 1) and I have a baby girl due in November 2017. I love the colors green and blue and I also enjoy drawing and painting.
